Scott Cobbold Wins British Youth
— Tony AtkinsThis year the British Youth Go Championship returned to be played over the board and was held in Leicester. The venue was the County Bridge Club in the New Parks district of the city, a very pleasant building that was until recently a children's nursery. The midlands location attracted players from all corners: Edinburgh, Cambridge and London, Cornwall and Manchester.

Committee Appointments
— Colin WilliamsIn the November Council meeting it was agreed that
- Colin Williams would take over the Chair of the Tournaments Committee, following the resignation of Matt Marsh. Matt will still be managing the running of this year's British Championship
- Stephen Tweedie would take over the Chair of the Technical Committee from Colin
Handover sessions are being arranged, and committee members should hear from the new Chairs reasonably soon.

UK Youth Team Lose Against France
— Tony AtkinsThe UK youth team is again playing in the European Youth Go Team Championship. As usual each match is five games played on KGS with one player U20, two U16 and two U12. Team manager Alison Bexfield made up the team following the selection tournament, including seven new team members, as announced in the November Youth Go News and listed on our EYGTC page.

UK Draw with Turkey
— Tony AtkinsThe UK drew their second match in the B-League of the Pandanet Go European Team Championship, against Turkey, with the last two games ending within a few seconds of each other. Black won all four games by resignation. This left them ninth in the table.

Bar Low is won by Scott Cobbold
— Tony AtkinsScott Cobbold, a young player from East London, won the 2021 Bar Low with a perfect five out of five. This event was this second tournament to be run by the London Go Centre at its new location and the second of the weekend. Second place was tournament director Richard Wheeldon with four wins. Both players entered at 1 kyu, the maximum grade allowed for this kyu player event.

T Mark Hall Rapid is Another Win for Yaoling Yang
— Tony AtkinsYaoling Yang (5d Bristol) won his third event in a row by winning the T Mark Hall Rapid Play Tournament with five straight wins. Finishing second was Peikai Xue (3d Central London) with four wins. John Bamford (5k Oxford) was the other player to win five games, whilst four wins were achieved by Richard Wheeldon (1k South London), Michael Kyle (2k Edinburgh), Tim James (4k Brighton), Gilles Englebert (7k Oxford), Andrew Volovich (9k Cambridge) and Marco Praderio (10k Lancaster).

Events Start at London Go Centre's New Home
— Tony AtkinsThe London Go Centre has started running events at its new home. It is now based at the new London MindSports Centre in Dalling Road, Hammersmith, W6 0JD.
As well as events such as tournaments, they are running friendly Go sessions, currently on Wednesdays from 19:00, and hope soon to start other activities.
